Feeding the Future: Nutreco's Visionary Narrative for Sustainable Protein Production.

Nutreco and their two subsidiary businesses, Skretting and Trouw Nutrition aim to feed the future.

By 2050, there will be 10 billion. How do we ensure those people have the essential proteins human beings need to thrive and survive? The challenge was finding a common language to tell the story in a new and familiar way. To create a narrative that everyone from board members to Peruvian fishermen could connect with, be inspired by, and be empowered by.

The story was written about a baby girl. A girl will be 30 in 2050 when the global population is 10 billion. What does this baby need to survive? What are the essential proteins she needs? What will her life be like in 2050? What will she be eating? What sort of planet does she want to live on?

Answering these questions holds, in one narrative, the great paradox that organisations like Nutreco face. How do we produce more food but not destroy our planet?

The story was an in-depth look at the sum of the challenges facing our planet and how Nutreco works in partnership with global organisations striving to make a sustainable and substantial impact.

The story went on to shape leadership discussions, strategy, sustainability agenda, and employer branding.

I have had the pleasure of working with Ben both at Nutreco and now at Recordati. Ben has helped us capture the essence of who we are and what we stand for, and want to achieve brilliantly. He works fast, is flexible and is very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend him.
